Over the course of a two-day workshop (16 hours) we will bring you up to speed on a modern web stack which scales AND that you’ll actually enjoy using.  We will provide students with an intensive, hands-on introduction to a modern web development stack utilizing React and Redux.

This intensive, hands-on learning opportunity has been designed to provide students with much more than having just sat through a lecture.  All students will get their hands dirty and utilize these frameworks by writing actual code.  Students will start by setting up a robust development environment and configure a complete set of powerful tools to aid in the development of all the sample projects.  This will include selecting and configuring such things as the IDE, package management, unit testing process, bundling and deployment, LINTing, and debugging tools. We will then take a deep dive into the React framework and all students will work through the development of a rich, component-based web application using React.  Students will learn and utilize TypeScript as the core implementation language although we will demonstrate using JavaScript and Babel as an alternative.

We will focus on helping all students learn about industry best practices tools and implementation patterns which they can then utilize to kick start their own development projects.

Students will get a deep dive into:

  • Setting up a robust web project develop, test, build cycle utilizing NPM, WebPack, Jest, TSLint and many other popular tools and packages
  • Using the power of TypeScript to write Modular and Object Oriented Code within the Browser
  • Implementing popular NPM packages and libraries in both a development and build/deploy process
  • Leveraging React to develop a rich, client-side architecture for powerful web applications
  • Efficiently utilizing server-side API's from your React application
  • Managing client state using the Redux pattern

At ArchitectNow we design and build great software applications. But, as you may know, things are never quite that simple. Different situations call for different strategies and tactics, or in our world, development languages and frameworks. We can talk technology until we’re blue in the face, but, at the end of the day, all that matters is that we can help you deliver great solutions that your users love and that achieve your business goals.
