The aim of ASIST is to help caregivers become ready, willing and able to provide emergency first-aid to persons at risk of suicidal behavior. During the two-day workshop, participants will examine their attitudes about suicide, learn how to effectively recognize and estimate the risk of suicide, and develop new and/or reinforce existing intervention skills.

ASIST is by far the most widely used, acclaimed and researched suicide intervention skills training in the world.

The workshop prepares caregivers to competently intervene with a person at risk of suicide. Caregivers master suicide first aid for reasons similar to those for learning CPR heart saver or basic physical first aid. Advanced skills can then be layered on with ASIST providing a common foundation.

A certificate is given to all participants who complete the full workshop.

Location: Fredericton

Time: 2 days, 9 AM - 4:30 PM

Cost: $200.00 for the general population and $150.00 student rate.

Cancellation policy

You may cancel your registration for a full refund up to Monday, September 5th, 2016. You also have the option on keeping your registration on account for an upcoming workshop.

No refunds are provided if you only complete one day of training. Course requirements state that you must complete BOTH DAYS of training in the same workshop to earn your certificate.
