ANTA proudly presents the Brisbane Seminar, the first of our series of National seminars for 2024, featuring high-profile presenters who are regarded as authorities in their field of expertise.

Members, graduates, students, practitioners and the general public are all invited to attend. A morning tea will be provided and attendance for the event is free!

This year we will be holding our seminar on Sunday 24th of March 2024. If you have attended our events in the past, please double-check the location and ensure you provide enough travel time. The event will begin at 9am and we recommend attendees arrive 30 minutes prior to the event starting to sign in and find a seat.

Andrew Pengelly
Master of Herbal Medicine

Dr. Andrew Pengelly has had a forty-year career as a herbal practitioner and naturopath, University lecturer, researcher, field botanist and aromatherapist. His PhD was awarded for his research into an Australian plant medicine. He is author of the widely used text “The Constituents of Medicinal Plants” now in its 3rd edition. Details of the book can be found on his website: https://herbalfield.education Andrew is currently employed as online teaching faculty for the Maryland University of Integrative Health (USA), where he teaches Herbal Pharmacology and Phytochemistry. He now lives in the Granite Belt region of Southern Queensland. As co-founder and vice-president of Indigenous Plants for Health Association Inc., he is involved in researching the chemistry and therapeutic potential of geebung (Persoonia spp.) in collaboration with the University of Queensland. He is a fellow and life member of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia, and vice-president of the Stanthorpe Rare Wildflowers Consortium.
