ANECHOIC CHAMBER EDUCATION SESSIONS – FREE!
Penn State Applied Research Laboratory will open their doors for these unique recreation opportunities. Both classes are held at the Anechoic Chamber, 300 E. Bristol Road – use the Penn State gate entrance on Bristol Road. Classes are free, but you must pre-register as space restrictions limit group to 15 people. Sometimes, in our haste for more and faster data and instant on-demand wireless services, we forget to ask how all the magic happens. Come hear an informative talk about how a lot of the wireless world works. From the initial cell phones to mobile computing platforms of the future, to the basics of GPS, to streaming TV, to air traffic control and military communications, and even to how automobiles are incorporating more and more wireless features. We just may have to spend a moment to mention smoke signals and Morse code to put this all into perspective.
WIRELESS APPLICATIONS IN SPORTS, FITNESS, AND ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES

Who’d have guessed fifty years ago that wireless gadgets and technology would have infiltrated so many aspects of sports, adventure, and athletics? Curious? Come participate in a discussion of present day examples of interconnectivity, such as how we’re able to view, in real time, what Olympic contestants see while competing, how doctors can render aid to climbers on Mt. Everest from their offices half a world away, how drones incorporate wireless data links and sensors, and more.
REFUNDS: There are no make-ups, pro-rating or refunds for missed classes/trips. Full refunds will be given only if the Department cancels a program/trip. All other refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee. Refunds for programs/trips over $30 will be given to participants who withdraw at least 2 weeks prior to a class/trip. Within two weeks, refunds for class/trip cancellations will be given if a replacement is found. Refund checks may take up to 4-6 weeks to process.
