ANECHOIC CHAMBER EDUCATION SESSION – FREE!

Penn State Applied Research Laboratory will open their doors for these unique recreation opportunities. Each class is held at the large Anechoic Chamber, 300 E. Bristol Road – use the Penn State gate entrance on Bristol Road. Classes are FREE! but you must pre-register as space restrictions limit group to 10 people. Ever see a TV show where a doctor holds up an MRI or X-ray and says something sounding very complicated (and it is) but the X ray we see, to us, looks very normal?  You ask yourself “Where is the problem?” A trained doctor knows how to make sense of this “picture.” The technologies behind these pictures are medical technology marvels.  Come learn about the differences and individual benefits of the various types of medical imaging.  From MRIs and C-T or CAT scans to X-rays and even ultrasounds and sonograms and others. These techniques involve microwave and audio frequencies that give medical radiography personnel and physicians a closer look at what is “under the hood” and what may be causing a medical problem.  Discussion led by a radio frequency engineer with good photos and videos.  Not a doctor, nor does he play one on TV.
