The April 13, 2017 speaker is Joseph Ryan from National Archives on “American Military Research”. He is a retired Army Officer (1984-2004), and received a BA from Texas A&M and a PhD from the University of Kansas. His presentation will include a very brief orientation to the National Archives, followed by some of the holdings National Archives have of military records. His presentation will also cover how to work with an archivist to access records in in the archives and procedures for finding and ordering records from them.
The Denton County Genealogical Society holds its monthly meetings on the second Thursday of each month in the program room of the Emily Fowler Central Library. Refreshments and networking will start at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Visitors are welcome.
