Join Lisa Barham, President of Hotel Resources and “Sales Prospecting Guru”, as she shares tips and techniques from various search engines and on-line resources to help make your jobs easier at finding group business.  Lisa will show you how to find groups looking to host an upcoming event in your market before the client starts to search for a hotel partner.  

Not only will you find out about their future event, she will show you how to find information on their past event(s), like the room rate, the number of attendees that were at their last event and be able to see how much revenue that organization can bring to your hotel before you call them.  Like all hoteliers, meeting planners have had a tough last 16 months, by knowing ahead of time if that group will fit into your hotel for meeting space and sleeping rooms, and you know the last rate they paid fits your current desired room rate, you will already be ahead of the game. 

If their past event was held in September, there’s a good chance the next event could be held in September, know your availability for that month prior to setting up your call.  Meeting planners will be behind the 8 ball once they can start planning meetings, help make their jobs easier, you’ll make a new friend and gain a new client.

 

About the presenter:  Lisa Barham is a keynote speaker at Hospitality Industry events, Internet Prospecting Guru, expert in Revenue & Lead Generation and a successful business owner.  A native Texan, a business and marketing major from Lamar University, in Beaumont, Texas, she has been in the hospitality industry for more than 38 years.  She started her sales and marketing career while working for Metro Hotels.  During the 10 years that she worked in the hotel industry, she worked primarily in the corporate office, developing and facilitating sales and marketing programs for 33 hotels.

 

It was 28 years ago when she founded her own company, Hotel Resources.  Hotel Resources offers multi-faceted support for hotels & resorts sales and marketing.  Services include: organizing tele-sales campaigns & sales blitzes, Internet competitive research, competitive market analysis and teaching internet prospecting.  Hotel Resources’ clients have closed millions of dollars from their lead generation programs and sales prospecting training programs.  The company’s clients include Marriott Hotels, Hilton, IHG, American Airlines, MGM Grand Resorts, Hyatt, many CVB’s and DMC’s as well as dozens of hotel management companies like Aimbridge Hospitality.  Lisa has been a sales expert on the Discovery Channel’s popular show, “Hotel Impossible”.
