"AG in your Community" is an initiative by Attorney General Letitia James to empower New Yorkers to bring concerns and issues they want reviewed and addressed by the Office of the Attorney General.
In addition to Attorney General James, members of the Attorney General’s staff will be available for brief consultations on issues including tenants’ rights, housing discrimination, employee wage and hour laws, consumer frauds, healthcare matters, and more. Staff will work to help address New Yorkers’ concerns, and when applicable, direct them to the appropriate partner government agency for assistance.
Attorney General James, as New York’s Attorney General, is the People's Lawyer and the state's chief legal officer. Under her leadership, the Office of the Attorney General serves as the guardian of the legal rights of the people of New York, its organizations, and its natural resources. The Office of the Attorney General has dedicated divisions to protect New Yorkers’ rights, including Economic Justice, Criminal Justice, Social Justice, and more. Each of these divisions, and all members of the Office of the Attorney General, work to pursue justice and safeguard all New Yorkers.
