WRI is delighted to present our NEW 2-day Advanced Wildlife Veterinary Treatment Course!

23 CVE Credits by VCI

This Advanced Wildlife Treatment Course is designed to give veterinary professionals an in-depth knowledge of the modern approaches to mammalian and avian wildlife treatment options after first aid and stabilisation have been achieved.

Instructors for this course include

Liz Mullineaux: BVM&S, DVM&S, CertSHP, MRCVS and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Wildlife Medicine

Mark Naguib: BVMS(Hons), MRCVS and an Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine

Heidi Hargreaves: BVSc, MRCVS

 

Cancellation policy

1.) If a registrant is unable to attend the course for any reason they may substitute, by arrangement with the registrar, another person who is interested in attending.

2.) Where a registrant is unable to attend, and is not in a position to transfer his/her place to another person, then the following refund policy will apply: 

a. Registrations cancelled in writing with more than 30 days notice before the course will be issued with a voucher to the full value paid, which can be redeemed on any of our subsequent courses, conferences or events. 

b. Registrations cancelled in writing between 7 and 30 days notice before the course will be issued with a voucher to the value of 50% of the registration fee paid, which can be redeemed on any of our subsequent courses, conferences or events. 


c. Registrations cancelled in writing with less than 7 days notice before the course will be issued with a voucher to the value of 25% of the registration fee paid, which can be redeemed on any of our subsequent courses, conferences or events. 

d. If a registrant cannot attend or has to leave the course at any point once it has begun, they will not be eligible for a refund or a voucher.

In the unlikely event that the course is cancelled, a full refund will be issued to the registrant.

Refunds will be made in the following way: 

1.) For payments received by paypal, the same account will be credited. 

2.) For payments received by bank draft, cheque or postal order, a cheque will be sent payable to the original payee.

Elizabeth Mullineaux
BVM&S, DVM&S, CertSHP, MRCVS

Liz is an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Wildlife Medicine (Mammalian). She has worked for over twenty years in first opinion veterinary practise, most recently as a director of a small animal veterinary hospital in Somerset. During this time she developed an interest in British wildlife medicine and in 2011 completed a clinical doctorate looking at ‘The factors affecting the rehabilitation and release of adult badger casualties’. Liz is Scientific Advisor to Secret World Wildlife Rescue (a wildlife charity specializing in badger rehabilitation), alongside small animal emergency medicine and academic part-time roles. Her main interest is the appropriate clinical care of British wildlife casualties. Liz is also co-editor of the BSAVA Manual of Wildlife Casualties and author of several other publications on wildlife medicine.

Heidi has been involved in wildlife care and rehab for over 20 years. She is a vet living in somerset and employed by Quantock veterinary hospital in Bridgwater and is one of the vets for Secret World Wildlife Rescue. Her main interests are animal welfare and euthanasia, and since her teens, Heidi has been passionate about wildlife and bats in particular. She is currently studying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Conservation Medicine.

BVMS(Hons) CertAVP(ZooMed) MRCVS, RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine.

Mark graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009 and has spent most of his career working with exotic pets, wildlife and zoo species. He is based at Battle Flatts Veterinary Clinic in North Yorkshire where he sees a busy caseload of both first opinion and referral cases in practice and provides veterinary services for a number of zoological collections and to a local wildlife rehabilitation centre. He regularly treats a wide range of native wildlife and has a particular interest in avian medicine and birds of prey. Mark holds the RCVS certificate in Zoological Medicine and is an Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine.

Kieran Corry
Kieran Corry, MVB MRCVS PgCertSurg (WBIS) – Director

A founding partner in Corry & O'Hare vet clinic in Omagh, NI, Kieran graduated with first-class honours from University College Dublin in 2005 and worked in a busy large and small animal practice in County Tyrone. To pursue his interest in the small animal field, particularly orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, he moved to Birmingham to work in a small animal practice. After moving back to Ireland in 2010, Kieran worked initially in Dublin and then in Campsie Veterinary Centre in Northern Ireland. Kieran has a special interest in all aspects of surgery and has a passion for wildlife medicine.
