Class Description and pertinent information for attendees, please read:

Students will learn to make hinged elements and to create a hidden box clasp.

This panel bracelet will provide the advanced student the opportunity to fabricate a classic piece of jewelry with style and class. The techniques taught will have broader applications in a wide array of jewelry and ornamental design.

All students are invited to bring their own style to their bracelet project. Textured metals, enameled panels, laminated or pierced work, etched designs and much more will lend themselves well to this classic bracelet technique. If you have some past projects that you think might be fun to use, bring them to class!

Materials list– There will be no kit, however some base metals will be available for purchase.

Students may bring metals suitable for their own creations. Silver, copper or a combination of metals can be used. Brass is not recommended as it does not solder well.Gauges of sheet metal should be strong enough to take the wear and tear of a bracelet. 16 gauge or higher is recommended, thinner gauge, laminated metals may also be suitable.

Classes are conducted by volunteer members of the Oxnard Gem & Mineral Society, under the the auspices of the City of Oxnard, Dept. of Recreation.
