Class meets 9:00 pm to noon, Monday mornings for 6 weeks.
OGMS instructor Jean pSmith
leads this class.

This class will explore the construction of a locket, including the fitting of the locket front & back, hinge construction and alternative construction techniques.


$12 for gas & consumables fee is collected for acetylene, tool use and other classroom consumables. This fee can be paid for during registration by choosing the Classroom Consumables ticket. You may also pay it on the first day of class. Please bring exact change. No checks please.

Lockets can be made from the student's material of choice; silver, copper or bronze. Sheet stock 22 gauge or heavier (can be rolled down) is recommended. You should have a minimum of 4 square inches of sheet stock to complete your project, but a sheet 4"x6" is optimal. Also needed, 2.5mm o.d. tube stock and 14 gauge fill wire for your locket accordingly.
If you are not constructing your project in silver, you may wish to purchase matching solders for your locket project.

Classes are conducted by volunteer members of the Oxnard Gem & Mineral Society, under the the auspices of the City of Oxnard, Dept. of Recreation.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation is allowed within the registration sales period only. Once the sales period has closed, no refund is given. All cancellations will incur a $10 "loss of sales" penalty.
