Hobby Lobby - Decatur, 1107 Beltline Rd SE, Decatur, AL, 35601, United States.

This is an ADVANCE Class and has Pre-Requisites.  Please do not sign up for the class if you are not confident with the following:

  • Ability and confidence to: paint basic mountains, basic trees and basic bushes with no instruction using the Bob Ross method. 
  • Ability to: create a sidewalk, create a marble mix, make a log (on a knife), properly load the various brushes, mix paints, and maintain a neat, organized, and uncontaminated palette
  • Ability to keep up with the class. This is an advance class, we will be moving VERY fast over the basics.
  • Ability and desire to practice basic and advance techniques at home, between classes. (i.e. you should have paints and brushes at home)
  • Must be at least 16 year old.
  • Must have an email address.
  • Must have access to a printer.
 

The goals of the advance class are to allow the opportunity: 

  • To focus more on techniques (since we would not have to rehash the basics every class)
  • To explore additional details in each painting
  • To explore more complicated landscape paintings
  • To explore wet on wet wildlife painting (possibly including student’s pets) 
  • To explore wet on wet portrait painting (using the wipe out method)
  • To allow greater individualize instruction by capping class size 
  • To possibly allow for personal projects
     

Advance pre-paid registration is required PRIOR to 05/19 ($75 - Non-Refundable). The artist will need to bring their own canvas to class.  Depending upon the project, canvas prep at home may be required (e.g. under painting).  Instructions on canvas prep will be emailed to the artist about a week before class. Supplies (e.g. paints) used during class will be provided. ALSO - Due to COVID-19, Artists are REQUIRED to bring and use a Face Mask (one without a valve).

Class starts promptly at 9:30am and finishes up by 1:30pm. If you have any question, call Jenny at 256-509-1161.

Jenny is an experienced painter and a Certified Bob Ross Instructor®. She is a member of the Huntsville Art League, at Lowe Mill. Jenny cultivated an interest and appreciation in the majestic national and state parks of the western US. She loved hiking in the Redwoods at Big Basin State Park, snowball fights at Crater Lake, camping at Yosemite, and wild life watching at Yellowstone. As an ordained minister, she has been on mission trips to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and the Amazon Jungle of Peru. From photo safaris in Etosha Game Park to floating down the Amazon River, these adventures outside of the US, deepened and expanded her world view and appreciation of the diversity of nature and people. These life experiences are where Jenny derives her inspiration
