In response to the COVID-19 outbreaks we request the following rules to protect students, instructors and fellow community members, these may be further updated in the coming weeks:

  • Do NOT attend a session if you are sick. There will always be another session and by not attending you are preventing your fellow Traceurs from becoming sick, even if it's not COVID-19 the passing of colds/flus may still result in people having to take time off work/study to isolate and get tested due to symptoms presenting (and the swabs aren't the most pleasant experience).
  • PLEASE bring a personal bottle of Hand Sanitiser or similar. Instructors will have some on-hand (pun intended) to share however having more people with their own will allow the classes to flow more freely. 
  • PLEASE wash your hands soon after the conclusion of class, especially before eating/touching your face, as you know we touch many surfaces during class, you don't always know where they've been...
  • PLEASE keep 1.5 metres apart from fellow students & instructors during the sessions as much as is practicable. Instructors will be tailoring the sessions to assist with this and more of the sessions will be in larger open areas with plenty of room to move.

Course Description

  • 5 week comprehensive introductory program with Brisbane’s most experienced active parkour instructors
  • Sessions will run from 1800-2000 on Wednesday evenings, most likely at Dutton Park & surrounds
  • Course begins on the 11th November, with the final session being on the 9th December
  • Introduction to parkour-specific movements, techniques, history, principles and philosophies
  • This course will introduce participants to:
  1. Preparation
  2. Safety
  3. Gradual progression from current capabilities
  4. Various techniques and principles for navigating different types of obstacles, starting with the basics
  5. Strength and conditioning principles and techniques, and
  6. Parkour history, mindsets and philosophies

 

  • We will navigate such obstacles as rails, walls, bars, trees, staircases and others
  • You will discover efficient, effective and appropriately challenging movements and the benefits of moving through your surroundings in a new way! :D

Fundamentals & Progression classes cover all the fundamental movements of Parkour and many other aspects of Parkour including strength and conditioning training, stretching and the philosophy behind Parkour and the training methods involved. Fundamentals classes are open to all skill levels, from those just starting out to the more advanced who may want to hone some of the more basic techniques.
