Saturday, 13 April 2019 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST

This training will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on April 13th. In order to receive a certificate of completion, you must attend the full 8-hour course.

Mental health problems are more common than heart disease, lung disease and cancer combined. One in five Americans is estimated to have a diagnosable mental health disorder, including 13.7 million children. The more knowledgeable people are about mental disorders, the less stigma will be associated with these common life challenges.

The Adult Mental Health First Aid course is appropriate for anyone 18 years and older who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health-related problem. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions. This course also teaches a 5-step action plan (ALGEE) to help people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Each participant will receive an Adult Mental Health First Aid manual free of charge.

The class will start on time--please be prompt. Lunch will not be provided, so please bring your own refreshments for the entire day.
