A Wild Idea: The Birth of the ADK Park Agency and What It Means for Today
Brad Edmondson will talk about the long journey that led to an important new book about New York’s North Country. “A Wild Idea: How the Environmental Movement Tamed the Adirondacks” is a lively account of the many elements that combined 50 years ago to produce the Adirondack Park Agency’s land use plans.
Edmondson worked over two decades, conducting 60 oral history interviews and diving into multiple archives, so that the people who worked for and against the APA could tell the story in their own words.
