Health Care Providers who take this course must complete and pass the Precourse Self-Assessment with a score of 70% or higher, have a current Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS course completion card and be proficient in the following:
 
  • Performing high-quality BLS skills as per the 2015 Guideline updates for CPR and ECC
  • Basic ECG interpretation
  • Understanding ACLS drugs
  • Bag-Mask Ventilations
All students must have a Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS card, dated with in 12 months of the ACLS course as a prerequisite. The Heart and Sroke Foundation has designated its advanced life support courses with basic life support skills as the foundation. The ACLS Course does not test all the skills for BLS and does not have the BLS exam included (Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2015).
 
Priority registrations will go to staff working in the ED, ICU, or Cath Lab.
 

Current BLS certification is required as an ACLS Course prerequisite. ACLS course participants MUST bring proof of current BLS provider status to the course.

 
This is a two day course on Thursday, May 25, 2017 - 0830-1630 and Friday, May 26, 2017 - 0830-1630.
