Mike Stearns Sr. founded AccuBuild in 1987. Having formerly served as Controller for a large General Contractor unsuccessfully trying to implement a different construction accounting system, he was asked to apply his computer programming skills to build a system wanted and needed but unavailable in the market. Mike returned soon after with a custom solution - AccuBuild. Although AccubBuild has evolved into an integrated construction management system under the leadership of his son and CEO Josh Stearns, Mike Sr. remains an integral part of the company's programming team. In his role, he serves both the company and a larger audience of influential professionals and contractors across the U.S.
Josh is the CEO at AccuBuild, guiding construction companies from operational challenges to solutions. He is dedicated to creating a positive experience for everyone who interacts with AccuBuild. Pursuing a love of computers that started when he was 16, Josh studied advancing technologies for large computer network infrastructures. He became proficient in computer software/hardware technologies, high-end accounting software, and document imaging software. After a successful IT consulting career, he turned his attention to the family business and invested his technology experience and marketing savvy in AccuBuild founded by his father Mike Stearns, Sr.. Initially brought on board to start an IT division and then moving into the sales and marketing, Josh has firsthand experience in all aspects of AccuBuild. He is deeply involved in the design, development, and implementation of the company’s products and cloud-based infrastructure. With Josh’s leadership and a remarkable team of Builders, AccuBuild is actualizing its vision of becoming the industry leader in automated solutions for collecting, integrating, and analyzing construction data. When not at AccuBuild, Josh spends his time with his wife and four children reading, working out, and doing homework. They are active members of their church and are involved in various local and international outreach programs.
As Chief Operating Officer at AccuBuild. John is responsible for carrying out the company's vision and creating harmonious and efficient workflows between departments for the betterment of our Clients, our Product, and the entire AccuBuild staff.
Eric Newton, AccuBuild's Chief Revenue Officer, has been in the Construction industry for over 36 years. Eric is a CPA and began his career in public accounting working with contractors. He was the CFO/Secretary Treasurer for a heavy highway contractor for 10 years before moving into construction technology, working as a VP/SVP for companies such Dexter and Chaney, Viewpoint, and Comdata. Eric has been a member of CFMA for over 15 years and spoken on various topics at CFMA chapter meetings. He has also served on the board of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of CFMA.
Mike J. Stearns has worked with AccuBuild for more than 20 years supporting IT solutions, software development, database administration and customer success. He currently oversees AccuBuild's Infrastructure and Engineering Department - a team of gifted software developers, support technicians, solution architects and systems engineers. Mike J. specializes in SQL (Structured Query Language) and database management and consistently seeks out product improvements for implementation or ways to to adapt AccuBuild to new technologies. Mike is most proud of the advancement of AccuBuild over the years stating, "I've been blessed to see AccuBuild evolve from the DOS based payroll/job cost system created in 1987 by my father, Mike Stearns, Sr,. to the integrated system we all love and use today."
Christy Roberg joined the AccuBuild team in May 2021. She has an extensive background in strategic planning, business development, market intelligence, business analytics, project management, change management, and payroll, including construction payroll. Christy has been certified as a Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is a Toyota Lean certified Greenbelt. On a perspnal note, Christy enjoys spending her free time with her very energetic 6 year old son, Rush.
Greg has a lifelong love for teamwork and the entrepreneurial spirit. He successfully ran his own accounting practice before selling to a trusted client after 10 years. He had the subsequent fortune to join a multimillion-dollar food and beverage industry company in senior management and later, seized an equity partnership opportunity with a foundation repair construction company. Greg helped grow that company’s revenue from $12m to $23.4m in the span of four years before divesting his ownership interest and entering retirement. Greg used his time of sabbatical to focus on his passion for helping open-minded and ambitious entrepreneurs achieve the successes they desire. Through his search Greg discovered EOS® and was captured by the simplicity and completeness of the system. In 2017, he visited EOS® Worldwide headquarters to train and certify as an EOS® Professional Implementer and over the past 5 years, has helped entrepreneurs implement and master the principles of EOS®, achieving countless successes for their respective businesses.
