Travel and Logistics

The course starts on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 4 pm. Participants are expected to arrive by 4, but are welcome to come and check in at the Bambu Guest House any time throughout the day. Once the course starts, all food, lodging, training, and travel are covered by the tuition and accomodations tickets. The course ends Saturday, November 23rd. We can help arrange shuttles to/from the airport, Antigua, or anywhere else for that matter. Just let us know if you need this service. Upon registering, we will send an email with an important questionnaire to learn more about your general health, yoga practice, and any food allergies you may have. We can accommodate most any request, including vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc.

Coming from Antigua, you would go to Panajachel which is about 2-3 hours away and one of the three big towns on the lake. From Panajachel, take a boat (lancha) at the public dock. Tell the captain that you are going to the town of Tzununa ("Zoo-new-nah") which is three public stops from Pana. When you disembark at the public dock of Tzununa, take a tuk-tuk (a little three-wheeled vehicle) to "El Bambu." The tuk-tuk will cost Q5 per person and the lancha should be Q15-Q20 per person. When you get to El Bambu, go through the gate and up to the main building. Someone will show you to your room. As noted, we are in the small town of Tzununa, quiet and still "undiscovered." From the guest houst yo uare less than a 10 minute walk to the lake and less than 20 meters from beautiful rivers. You are a 45 minute walk or a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride to the town of San Marcos la Laguna. There yo ucan find many places to eat, drink, listen to live music, get a massage, etc. Again, we can help you get to the lake from Antigua or the airport, or from anywhere. Just let us know and we can arrange a shuttle for you.

Today, our farm is host to an enormous amount of diversity, including dairy goats, pigs, chickens, vegetables, coffee, bees, and well over 200 useful plant species. Over the past few years, the farm has also begun to host various human activities.
