AAUW January 2022 General Meeting

STEM Education in Idaho

Dr. Kaitlin Maguire will be our January 12, 2022 speaker. Dr. Maguire was appointed the permanent Executive Director of Idaho STEM Action Center on July 12, 2021 by Governor Little after serving in an interim capacity in this position. Dr. Maguire was previously a Research Scientist for the U.S. Geological Survey. She has a biology undergraduate degree from George Washington University, a geology Masters’ degree from Ohio University and a Ph.D. In ecology and evolutionary biology from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Maguire will talk about how it is a critical time for STEM education in Idaho. Idaho needs to ensure that its workforce has the necessary skills to be prepared for the jobs and challenges of the future.

 

A social hour with a no-host bar will begin at 11:00 am in the Sapphire Room.

Lunch will be served at 11:45 am in the Sapphire Room.
