Speaker

Rebecca (Becca) Bartles is the system director of infection prevention for Providence St. Joseph Health System. Becca has practiced Infection Prevention for the last 13 years in a variety of healthcare settings. She received both her BS in Public Health, Health Education and her MPH in Epidemiology from East TN State University. She is currently working towards her Doctorate in Public Health. Becca has been CIC certified since 2008 and recently became an APIC fellow. Most notably, though, Becca is the mother of four beautiful daughters, ages 3-19.

 

Objectives:

        Describe the problems with using the IP staffing surveys currently available in the literature as benchmarks for staffing an IP program

        Describe the recent changes to the role of infection preventionist that have significantly increased demand on program resources

        Gather necessary information to conduct a comprehensive organizational review to determine the appropriate IP staffing needs for your organization
