The Impact of a Positive Start to Life is an afternoon event being hosted by KidCareCanada and sponsored by Leadership Victoria. Our goal is to bring community influencers together to discuss the importance of the first years of life and how we can create a good cycle where parents pass on healthy and safe parenting practices to the next generation. We want to provoke discussion about a positive start to life and highlight how KidCareCanada and other community organizations can influence society through the work that they are doing to empower families.

Moderated by Cliff Lequesne, from the Q! Morning Show, our panel will include the following community inflluencers:

  • Kundoqk, Dr. Jacquie Green (Director & Associate Professor, School of Social Work,
  • Suzanne Jackson (Child Care Planner, BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres),
  • Dr. Andrew Macnab, MD (Pediatrician and Director, KidCareCanada Board),
  • David Lau (Executive Director, Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society).

KidCareCanada works collaboratively with health providers, educational institutions, and other organizations who support families and is committed to contribute to society through well informed parents and lovingly nurtured babies who can grow up to reach their full potential. They produce carefully crafted free resources that take the science of Early Childhood Development and bring it to new parents in a visual, easy to understand format.
