IStructE Regional Group Committee is inviting you to an online webinar by Mr. Jens Fussing, Technical Director-BG&E Engineers, on the topic "A Place to - Esbjerg Towers: Case Study – Is it possible to build tall and affordable”.
The case study concerns the journey from the client’s vision to construct low cost tall buildings with appealing and complex architecture to “hands-on” technical solutions.
The project is located in Esbjerg Denmark, the architecture is inspired from cactus trees, and the usage is student accommodations. The talk will predominantly demonstrate innovative solutions within the structural system, facades, MEP and the practical use of industrialization, transforming a highly complex looking building into buildable towers. As the authorities in the UAE focus more and more sustainability, material waist, reduction in labour force and innovation the talk will provide examples of prefabrication of nearly the entire project except for the central cores.

This is a hybrid event (physical and online). The event will take place at Herriot-Watt University, Al Sufouh, Knowledge Park, Dubai. Note that all attendees are required to be fully vaccinated to attend the event physically.
