11 A.M. - WALT DISNEY MANSION TOUR - Walt Disney built this beautiful estate in 1932 to raise his family. Over the years, his girls would grow up in this home, he'd produce many of his most memorable films while living here, and he hosted countless famous guests and parties. Visit the estate on a comprehensive guided tour by Disney author and historian Dusty Sage, see the exterior and interior areas, including Walt's screening room and a famous gift Walt Disney gave to his daughters one bright Christmas morning).
1 P.M. - A Merry Little Christmas with Walt - A Special Holiday History and Music Event. Be the first guests to hear our historic 1901 piano played as we regale you with holiday music from the 1930's and 40's. Our amazing pianist is Jenny Ing, who travels the country with the iconic performer Engelbert Humperdinck. You'll also enjoy a discussion with legendary Imagineer Tania Norris, who decorated the Disney family's home for the holidays and will speak about what Christmas was like for the Disney's and how the holiday has changed over the years. As a special bonus, you'll see a screening of a classic Christmas Silly Symphony in Walt's historic screening room and hear the charming story of a particular Christmas morning in 1937 where you will see the actual gift Walt Disney gave his daughters on that emotional day. (event ends at 2:30 P.M.)
About Our Special Speakers & Performers:
Tania McKnight Norris began her career in WED Enterprise (now Walt Disney Imagineering) in 1964. She was an interior designer for Club 33, The Haunted Mansion, Plaza Inn, and several projects at Walt Disney World. She went on to design interiors for The Queen Mary and for Walt Disney's own homes and vacation properties.
Jenny Ing was born in Victoria BC, Canada, and is now an L.A. based international touring multi-instrumentalist who has had the pleasure of working with legendary balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck, adult contemporary Billboard charting artist, Margo Rey; and has performed with numerous other big names in the music industry. Ing started singing with the Dickens Carolers of Disneyland at the park's exclusive Club 33 and Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and can now be seen performing the main stage at Knott’s Berry Farm with her group ‘Just Sway Music’s The Sleigh Bells.’
All guests attend events and tours at the mansion at their own risk - All tickets include a waiver that must be agreed to before purchase and will also be given a verbal warning before entering any event or tour. Note that this private residance has MANY STAIRS and is not accessable by wheel chair and is not advisable for those with mobility issues. Attending public events may put you at risk of acquiring COVID-19. As guests of the owner, you are asked to please follow all directions given, including being careful not to touch any of the artwork or furnishings. No backpacks or high healed shoes are permitted. Observe the photo policy (only outdoor photos allowed). Due to safety issues and protection of the fragile interior of the home, this experience isn't advisable for children.
