Radical Community Transformation
A Special Session for Clergy, Church Leaders, and Passionate Jesus Followers
Does it seem like your community is a desert...that is little life or the life that is there is less than ideal? Do you feel like the church is missing out on it's God-given mission to be the oasis in the desert?
As Mike Slaughter says, "Transformation happens in the desert." Your church is perfectly situated to be the oasis in the desert, we just have to learn what that means and develop strategies to help us live it out.
Spend a day with Mike Slaughter as he tells how he has led and mentored others to lead radical community transformation. During this time together, Mike will share invaluable lessons and practical ideas to aid you in forming steps and strategies that will allow you and your church to become the leaders of radical renewal in your community that will further strengthen lives and relationships.
**Lunch is included in registration**
SPECIAL BONUS SESSION
Neighborhood Seminary
In addition to Mike Slaughter, Rev. Dr. Elaine Heath will spend a few minutes conveying information about the new initiative The Neighborhood Seminary. The Neighborhood Seminary provides robust missional, spiritual, theological, and practical formation to equip people to minister in their home, neighborhood, workplace, and community. The program is led by an integrated team of scholars, church leaders, community practitioners, and trained spiritual directors.
The Neighborhood Seminary aims to help participants open their minds and senses anew to the movement of God’s Spirit, empowering them to engage the people of God in their communities. The learning and formation is built upon the premise that God comes among us and dwells in our neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood Seminary is open to lay persons, 18 years or older, who have a desire to engage God's mission in the neighborhood.
