Get Ready for some Hot Air Balloon Fun in New Mexico!
For a totally-social non-Corvette trip, come along and enjoy a 5-night coach tour featuring the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta!
Rumor has it that the Balloon Fiesta is fabulous, but there is a lot of traffic, hard to get tickets, and hotels. For the ease of attending this bucket-list event with a bit less stress, we’re going to give it a go and see if the group is interested in attending using a pre-made escorted coach tour.
We can do this with a small group or a large one. If we have more than 32 people interested, we will be able to secure our own private coach. If only a small group wishes to go, then we would be just a section of a larger coach. The coach has spacious seating, with only 44 passengers maximum. Please RSVP per individual, so 1 for singles and 2 for couples.
The itinerary is:
Friday, 10/8 Arrive in Albuquerque – meet the Tour Director at 6pm for social hour and a presentation by a local balloonist

Saturday, 10/9 Opening Ceremonies and Mass Balloon Ascension, Visit the International Balloon Museum, Tequila tasting and lunch, Balloon Glow and After-Glow fireworks in the evening. (B, L)
Sunday, 10/10 Visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Guided sightseeing including Route 66 and Old Town. Guided tour of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, Free time in the evening (B)
Monday, 10/11 Scenic drive along the Turquoise Trail enroute to our second city, Santa Fe, NM. Santa Fe Guided Trolley Tour includes San Miguel Mission, The Palace of Governors, the State Capitol and Loretto Chapel. Free time in afternoon and evening (B)

Tuesday, 10/12 Excursion to Santuario De Chimayo, lunch in Santa Fe Plaza, free time in the afternoon and dinner with entertainment (B, L, D)
Wednesday, 10/13Morning transfer to the Albuquerque airport, flights after 11am (B)

The tour price as of 3/31/21 through 4/26/21, which includes everything above is:
The current price per couple is $3,874.10 total
The current price for a single is $2,587.05 total
The price is just for the tour, so we’d have to add on travel insurance, tips of $66 per person for our driver and guide, and air to that - but I’m starting with the tour for now to see how much interest we might have.
The deposit is $250 per person, non-refundable. $500 per couple, non-refundable.
That said, the tour company has a Covid ‘piece of mind’ plan in place that would allow you to change to something else and not actually lose your money up through a certain date.
