Dr. Vick began her nursing education while still in high school by way of dual enrollment at Chicago Vocational High School and the Chicago Public School Practical Nursing Program. In 1994, she successfully completed high school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Embracing the role of lifelong learner, Dr. Vick furthered her nursing education – earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chicago State University and Master of Science in Nursing from Rush University majoring in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Critical Care Nurse Specialist programs. Her final degree, a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, was completed at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Throughout her nursing career, Dr. Vick has delivered several presentations and authored numerous publications including the article, “Implementation of an inpatient smoking cessation program in a Veterans Affairs facility,” printed in the Journal of Clinical Nursing. Most recently, she served on the American Nurses Association (ANA) Connected Health/Telehealth professional issues panel resulting in the updated ANA position statement, “ANA Core Principles on Connected Health.” She is currently the Chief of Telehealth Services at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System and proud charter member of the Eta Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated. Dr. Vick is currently the Vice President of this chapter. Dr. Vick holds many professional roles and achieved countless accomplishments. However, her most important roles are that of wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Her family and close friends have been a tremendous source of love and encouragement that has carried her this far. Dr. Vick has been married for over 17 years to her high school sweetheart, Robert. They have one teenage son who is an avid football player, wrestler, and power lifter. Watching Robert, Jr. grow up has been the highlight of her life and the most rewarding experience EVER!
