A defining feature of all cancer cells, irrespective of their underlying mutational status, is the reprogramming of cellular metabolism that occurs to support cell growth, cell proliferation and cell survival. Indeed, it is now widely recognised that cancer development and progression are dependent on the reprogramming of cellular metabolism. For this reason, there is significant interest in understanding how cancer-associated metabolic vulnerabilities can be exploited for therapeutic benefit. The goal of this meeting is to engage a diverse group of scientists and clinicians with expertise in areas including metabolism, cancer biology and signal transduction to explore and discuss the latest developments in understanding the metabolic regulation of cancer.
