Description: This is a half-day session that will focus on the layout of the new science framework for 2nd and 3rd grade. We will explore the three dimensions of the new framework (science and engineering practices, crosscutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas) and learn how these dimensions work together in an elementary science setting. I will also provide a resource guide that will help 2nd and 3rd grade teachers in planning for the integration of the new science standards in their lessons. We will also explore the use of Gizmos (online science simulations) in the lower elementary classroom.
