Hello Collaborative Nursing Students,
We are excited to announce that we are now hosting our yearly CPR re-certification classes.
This course is for students who need to renew their CPR certification status for the upcoming school year. We have teamed up with City CPR Centre and are offering this course for $30 (Red Cross) and $32 (Heart & Stroke). Register now since spots are limited! If you have any questions, please email us at tmu@cnsa.ca.
Courses will take place at the Centennial College Morningside Campus (755 Morningside Ave, Scarborough, ON M1C 4Z4) and TMU Campus - however each class we list on the Eventzilla will indicate which location the class is taking place. Please also look at the ticket description for the exact location of your class.
You will receive a certificate of class completion at the end of your session, and your official e-certificate in an email within 10 business days upon successfully completing the quiz (open book test), at your session.
Red Cross classes are 2 hours in duration & Heart and Stroke classes are 3 hours in duration.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR CLASS SINCE WE HAVE A STRICT LATE POLICY AND NO STUDENTS WILL BE ACCOMMODATED PAST THE OUTLINED START TIME.
Please also note that we require 5 students for each class to run. In the event that we do not have 5 students in a class three days before the class is scheduled, we will email students to pick an alternative date and time.
All course registrations are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE. You may request to reschedule your class, but this has to be at least 48 hours before your scheduled class date. We will only make one class switch free of charge. Please email tmu@cnsa.ca for any rescheduling requests.
Lastly, to understand the difference between the Red Cross and Heart and Stroke certifications, please see the information below:
Please ensure that if you registered/are planning to register for our Heart and Stroke recertification classes, that you have a valid Heart and Stroke BLS-CPR card already or ARE WILLING TO CONVERT YOUR RED CROSS BLS CPR INTO HEART AND STROKE BEFORE you attend the CPR class. See instructions below:
Converting your Red Cross CPR to Heart and Stroke CPR is a simple two-step process:
Students must show proof of completion (paper certificate) of the Heart and Stroke Challenge Quiz or they will NOT be admitted into the Heart and Stroke Recertification Class.
For Outgoing Fourth-Year Students: Obtaining a Heart and Stroke renewal certification is a great opportunity for outgoing fourth-year students who are interested in obtaining their Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, in the future.
Thank you!
