2023 Federal Court Town Hall - Engage & Exchange

The United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island will provide several opportunities for members of the bar to earn CLE credits.  This CLE is a unique opportunity for attorneys to participate in a Town Hall style dialogue with the District Court's New Advisory Council, Judges, and Court Staff.  Registration is free and will be limited to the first 50 attorneys who register.  Lunch will be provided.  Live steaming will also be available during the Town Hall.  Video replay credits will be available for those who could not attend in person or view the live stream.  2.5 CLE credit offered.

The program consists of the following:

First Half. In the first 60 minutes, our discussions will revolve around the new Advisory Council, led by Marc DeSisto, Esq. and Lynette Labinger, Esq., the Advisory Council Chairs. Chairs from various subcommittees will also provide insight into the Council's objectives, role, and contact points. An open forum will follow, where each committee chair will discuss pressing topics, and attendees are encouraged to provide their feedback and thoughts.

Presenters:

- Marc DeSisto, Esq., Advisory Council Chair

- Lynette Labinger, Esq., Advisory Council Chair

- Donna DiDonato, Esq., Local Rules/Bar Fund Committee Chair

- Stacey Nakasian, Esq., Access to Justice Committee Chair

- Zachary Mandell, Esq., Continuing Legal Education/District Conference Chair

- George West, Esq., Criminal Bar Committee Chair

- Joshua Xavier, Esq., Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Chair

Lunch Break. We will have a 25-minute lunch break, allowing for informal conversations and networking. Lunch will be provided

Second Half. The program resumes with an open town hall involving our Judges and Magistrate Judges. Here, a moderator will direct questions, primarily sourced from the Advisory Council subcommittees to the Judges. Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to engage directly with the Judges and Magistrate Judges during an open Question and Answer session focused on Federal District Court practices.
