The BC Estates Forum
returns in June 2021,with Hammerco Lawyers returning as the forum’s founding partner.

BC is unique. It has a rapidly expanding population, is on the edge of the largest intergenerational transfer of wealth in history and it has a large number of high-net-worth individuals and families based in - and relocating to - the province. This leads to both opportunities and challenges when it comes to estate planning, management and execution. As the pandemic winds and our province enters a rebuilding phase, evolutions in this regard will have a substantial impact on how the estate planning ecosystem evolves in both the near, medium and longer term.

The purpose of the BC Estates Forum is to shine a light on the key contexts, drivers, challenges and opportunities for professional advisors in the province’s estate planning ecosystem. In light of the economic and social impact from the Covid-19 pandemic , it will present a picture of what it means for assets and businesses underpinning individual estates and for the advisors involved with managing them. The evolving role of innovation underpinned by technology - another key driver - will also be covered. And - finally - the forum will provide an opportunity for forward thinking members of BC’s estate planning community to engage with each other.
