This 2019-20 school year will bring about a change in trajectory for the advanced boat build class! 

  • First, we will meet on Fridays beginning September 6, 2019 from 10 a.m. to noon.

  • Second, the students will spend the first two (2) months building Mexican gondolas in conjunction with the Fleisher Art Memorial that will culminate in a Dia de Muertos celebration the first weekend in November 2019. 

  • Third, the students will spend five - six weeks learning about materials management and will attend approximately two (2) field trips.

  • Fourth, beginning January 2020, the students will be immersed in metal casting for the remainder of the year - designing and casting metal works to outfit a number of the boats.

  • There will not be class on the following dates: Friday, November 8, 2019, Friday, November 29, 2019, Friday, December 27, 2019 and spring break 2020 (tbd).
