Rear Admiral Mark H. Buzby was sworn in as the United States Maritime Administrator on August 8, 2017. A 1979 Graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, Admiral Buzby was commissioned in the US Navy and embarked on a distinguished career. Retiring from the Navy in 2013, he became president of the National Defense Transportation Association. His personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and various other awards.
