The conference will be held all day on Friday October 19 and Saturday October 20 from about 8am-6pm, with an optional meet-and-greet reception on Thursday evening October 18.

Schedule: https://misophonia-association.org/2018-convention-schedule/

Speakers: https://misophonia-association.org/2018convention/2018-convention-speakers/

Our overall goal remains to create an affordable convention that will bring you the very best in current thinking, coping, management, new knowledge, and practical sessions with useful advice and support.

FOOD AND CONVENTION ENVIRONMENT:

Many people attending this event have specific sounds or movements that trigger their misophonia reactions. We want this to be a safe and comfortable environment for all participants. Therefore, NO FOOD, DRINK, OR GUM will be allowed into the meeting rooms. We know that there are many different types of triggers, and we do our absolute best to keep the convention environment as trigger-free as possible. However, we know it is impossible to eliminate all triggers for all sufferers, so we always ask that everyone does their best to be mindful and respectful of each other, and responsive to other people’s needs.

There will be provided snack breaks served outside of the meeting rooms, allowing for enough space to separate from others. We always try to plan the types of snacks carefully. There is a lunch break scheduled into each day where you will be on your own to get whatever you want for lunch.

THURSDAY EVENING WELCOME:

Join us for a Welcome/Meet & Greet on Thursday evening October 18. We will be in a private area just for our group. Children and youth welcome! Come get to know others in the misophonia community!

AUCTION, DONATIONS, AND SCHOLARSHIP FUND:

Please contact us if you have any items that you would like to donate for this year’s auction. We are always looking for ways to offer help and scholarships to allow people to attend our conventions who would not be able to afford it otherwise.  If expense is the only thing getting in the way of you attending this event, please contact us and ask about our scholarship fund.

As a Non-Profit Organization, your thoughtful donations of any size are greatly appreciated and always go directly towards making an impact on the Misophonia community. Thank you!

“MISOPHONIA MATTERS!”

Misophonia Association

https://misophonia-association.org

The Misophonia Association is a Non-Profit Organization that was founded in 2013 in Portland, Oregon after the first annual Misophonia Convention, held in October. In 2014, the second convention was held in Orlando, Flordia followed by the third in Chicago, Illinois in October of 2015 with nearly 200 people attending, and the fourth convention was held in Las Vegas over President's Day Weekend 2017. Our Non-profit association goals and mission include: Education, Advocacy, Research, Support, and to assist those who suffer from the condition of Misophonia, as well as their families. We stand together in our rejection of bias, prejudice, and exclusion. We value respect, encouragement, professionalism and courteous speech and behavior. We recognize effort, intentions and accomplishment. We applaud helpfulness, positivity, and collaboration. We have made tremendous progress in the past few years. We are committed to our annual convention which allows us to present a platform for gathering current and potential researchers and clinicians, and to work directly with those who suffer from Misophonia along with their families to encourage exploration and support as a group. We continue to press for legitimate peer-reviewed professional research, and we are committed to long-term dedicated and professional activities. The Misophonia Association is a non-profit funded with volunteer effort and donated time and funds.
