WOMEN WARRIORS 2017 FITNESS CHALLENGE

&

WOMEN LEADERS EMPOWERMENT SYMPOSIUM

BENEFITING THE TODAY’S WOMAN FOUNDATION

 

The Women Warriors fitness challenge returns and we’re excited you’re here to register! The event will benefit the Today’s Woman Foundation, which is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to support and provide resources to women from a diversity of backgrounds. The event will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 8:00am until 1:00pm at Apple Valley High School, located at 11837 Navajo Rd, Apple Valley, CA 92308. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from inspirational speakers, participate in self-defense training, and compete in the Women Warriors Fitness Challenge. Registration will remain open until Thursday, October 19, 2017.

 

Event Day:

 

7am: Check in

 

8am: Women Leaders Empowerment Symposium.

Hear from inspiring women leaders from the Today’s Woman Foundation and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

 

9am: Women Warriors Fitness Challenge and Self-Defense Course begins.

*Women Warriors Team Captain’s briefing begins. 

*Self-Defense Course is optional and does not require registration.

 

The Women Warriors Fitness Challenge will include four events. You must register as either Individual or Team category. If you register as a team, you must have a minimum number of 3 people to a maximum number of 6 people on a team. Each team must designate a team captain.

 

There are two categories for Teams, which include Non-Sworn (citizens) and Sworn. If you have 2 or more law enforcement officers on your team, you must register as a Sworn Team. Sworn Teams will only participate against other Sworn Teams. If you register as a sworn team, you must pre-register online and cannot register the day of the event.

 

 

Team Events:

Pursuit and Rescue course: Teams will start the event by climbing a 6ft chain link fence, followed by a 6ft solid wall, followed by a 165 pound dummy drag. This event will run consecutively.

Push-Up / Sit-up Challenge: All team members will complete 25 push-ups followed by 25 sit-ups and then run a short distance to the finish line.

400 Yard Dash: The team (together) will run a 400 yard dash.

**The top 3 team member’s scores for each event will be counted towards the overall team score**

 

Individual Events:

You will complete the listed events above in the following order:

400 Yard Dash

Pursuit and Rescue Course

Push-Up/Sit-up challenge

 

12pm: Raffle and Awards Ceremony

 

The raffle will include items ranging from high value gift certificates to a $400.00 women’s watch provided by Ozels Jewelers.

The awards ceremony will be held immediately after the conclusion of the fitness challenge and self-defense courses. For the team challenge, the top 3 teams (overall) will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies and each team member will receive a medal (Sworn & Non-Sworn).

For the individual Challenge, the top three finishers (Overall) will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies and the top finishers in each event will receive medals.

Reminders:

No one under the age of 18.

 

Due to limited availiability and us wanting to give women the first opportunity to participate, the Women Warriors Fitness Challenge and Self-defense course will be open to women only 18 years of age and older. 

 

The Women Leaders Empowerment Symposium is open to males and females 18 years of age and over. Males are also allowed to spectate the events.

 

Participants who register by October 19, 2017 will be guaranteed a FREE event shirt.
