Austin Ludwig

Hello, my name is Austin Ludwig. I am currently a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When I was ten years old, something happened that would change the lives of my family forever. My youngest brother Mason had been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Currently, Mason is 10 years old and still nonverbal. Growing up with Mason and seeing the challenges he faces on a daily basis has brought this disorder close to my heart. Since his diagnosis, I have developed a passion for giving back to the Autism community, volunteering and working with autistic children through organizations such as Miracle League, Autism Speaks, and many others. Two years ago, as a senior at Middle Creek High School, I furthered my involvement by hosting a charity golf tournament benefiting the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC). Last year, we continued the tournament, raising $6,800 for ASNC and the local Autism community. This year, the Third Annual Chipping in for Autism Charity Golf Tournament will take place on June 10th. All proceeds from this tournament will be donated to ASNC and the local autism community.
