Mary Beth Ali is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey, a Licensed School Social Worker and Student Assistance Counselor through the New Jersey Department of Education, and Certified Advanced Social Work Case Manager (C-ASWCM) through NASW. Mary Beth earned her masters' degree in Social Work from Fordham University and her bachelor's degree in Social Work and a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Mary Beth's professional social work training began as an Infectious Disease Social Worker with Hackensack Meridian Health, serving individuals living with HIV. As the HIV pandemic evolved into a chronic disease, Mary Beth expanded her social work career to counseling children and families as a school social worker and a student assistance counselor for fourteen years. Mary Beth oversaw the Intervention and Referral committees, 504 committees, and DCP&P referrals throughout the district. Mary Beth's medical and educational social worker experience led her to join the Rutgers School of Social Work as the Field Education Coordinator and Instructor of Teaching for the past seven years. Mary Beth enjoys teaching Practice 1, Women's' Issues, Clinical Social Work Health, Chronic Illness and Disability, and Social Worker Perspective on HIV. Mary Beth's career interests remain in teaching and delivering clinical services in an interdisciplinary setting.
