2 Clinical CEUs

Early adolescence, or the tween years, is a time when many young people become more engaged with digital technology.  Digital media, such as videos, social media, and gaming, saw a technological surge as young people coped with restrictions during the pandemic.  This presentation will discuss the influence that digital media has on this developmental period, highlighting the risks and benefits, in addition to ways clinicians can support tweens and their families to integrate digital media into their lives.

3 Objectives for this presentation are:

 1.     Identify ways in which digital media can influence the development of tweens.

2.     Gain an understanding of various platforms and unhealthy behaviors that tweens may engage in that can have a negative impact on their sense of self and their interpersonal relationships.

3.     Identify ways to assess digital media use and interventions to best support tweens and promote healthy digital media behavior.
