This workshop is designed to help clinicians identify and treat client challenges--both individual and couple --related to sexual problems and concerns.

Sexual health is intertwined with mental and physical health, and sexual pleasure has been shown to enhance quality of life.  Many clients may not bring up sexual concerns unless asked directly by clinicians or otherwise made to feel that the topic is permissible and appropriate.

Research shows that clinicians who receive more education and supervision regarding human sexuality are more likely to initiate sexuality-related discussions with their clients.

This workshop is sponsored in part by Institute for Personal Growth

My path to be a therapist started with my interest in people and my desire to be helpful. This path led to a BA in psychology and an MA and Ed.S. in Counseling, AASECT certifications in Sex Therapy and Sex Therapist Supervisor, as well as the Advanced Trainer certification in the Nurtured Heart Approach, and the Approved Clinical Supervisor certification . Working in inpatient, outpatient, residential settings, and private practice have all helped to understand people at varying levels of care and their wide array of needs, especially the need people have for connection. My steps led to the great fortune of working at the Institute for Personal Growth where I have worked for over 19 years providing individual, couples and sex therapy. I have the privilege of getting to know and understand my clients, and in the process help them to gain the personal insight to understand themselves. While incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Gottman, NHA, writings of other therapists and my life experience into my work, I also draw from nature and art. Both nature and art are invitations to be present, notice, feel, and appreciate
