Description: Asian Americans are one of the fastest growing populations in the US. The workshop will identify who Asian Americans are and teach the participants effective and practical approaches and techniques to establish a therapeutic alliance with the population in a clinical setting.

1. Recognize the diversity and complexity of the Asian American population. 

2. Learn practical approaches to establish a therapeutic alliance with Asian Americans in a clinical setting

 

3. Learn cultural considerations for clinical assessment and treatment while working with Asian Americans

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Yuko T. Inzana, MSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who has been providing clinical treatment for adolescents and adults with anxiety, trauma, gender identity (Transgender), cultural identity and family relationship issues for over 17 years. She started her private practice in Princeton in 2011. Prior to starting her full time practice, Yuko worked in various clinical therapy positions, including a settlement house for new immigrants, outpatient, residential and hospital settings. From 2009-2014, she served as the Clinical Director at LGBTQ friendly group home in Trenton, NJ. Yuko completed the Bowen Family Systems Theory Level I & II at Rutgers University for her postgraduate training. As a bilingual and bicultural social worker, Yuko also provides various community outreach that focuses on mental health and cultural assimilation issues in the Japanese immigrant community of NJ.
