The 12th Annual Zonta Walks for Women Breast Cancer Awareness Walk & 5K Run will be held on Saturday, October 6th, at the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and the walk/run will travel along the banks of the Thunder Bay River.
This inspiring event unites the entire community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about the importance of early detection's, and to raise funds for our local community organizations like Friends Together and Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena.

Pre-registration
Walkers/runners are encouraged to pre-register by September 15 to be guaranteed a t-shirt, which can be picked up Monday, October 1 - Thursday, October 5 between 8 am and 4 pm at Thunder Bay Accounting, 1400 US 23 South, Alpena.
Online registration deadline is Tuesday, October 2. After October 2, register on-site between 8:30 am - 9:45 am the morning of the walk.
Breast Cancer survivors registration is free. Just click the Yes check box when registering if a survivor and choose hte check payment option so you do not have to provide online payment.
T-Shirts
This year's t-shirts will be tie dye to go with our 60's theme!
T-shirts can be picked up between Monday, October 1 and Thursday, October 5 at Thunder Bay Accounting, 1400 US Hwy 23 S, Alpena, MI 49707, or the morning of the race. To receive a t-shirt it is encouraged to register by September 17.
Participants
Everyone is welcome; women, men, children and dogs. Dogs must be on a leash at all times!
Teaming Up
Families, businesses, churches and service clubs are encouraged to build teams. Just enter your team name when registering.
Entry Fee
Cost is $20 per person. Children 14 and under are free but will not receive a t-shirt.
Payments can be made by registering online using debit/credit cards or by registering online and mailing a check to Zonta Club of Alpena, PO Box 185 Alpena, MI 49707.
All entry fees and donations raised by participants directly benefit the Friends Together Tees and Tops Program, local wig support programs and Mid-Michigan Medical Center.
Donations
To qualify for prize incentives donations must be received on or before the day of the walk.

* To donate simply provide your donation during online registration or mail your donation to Zonta Club of Alpena PO Box 185, Alpena MI 49707 (please include your name or team name on the check).
Race Age Categories
15 - 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60+
Medals will be awarded to male and female runners in the top 3 places in each age group.

Bras Across the Bridge
Decorate your bra, don't burn it!
Submit a decorated bra to Friends Together Oct 1 - Oct 5 by 1pm then come to the 5k and vote for your favorite submissions by donation! The winner will reeceive the coveted boobie prize!
