We are currently at capacity for the 2020 Readiness Summit. We expect cancellations, so please sign up on our waiting list and we will let you know if spots become available. Thank you for your interest in the Readiness Summit!
For more than a decade, we've been examining the gaps in our children's educational achievements and delving into the range of factors that make up this complex picture. We've been exploring emerging theories; we've been sharing resources from our community and beyond. This year, we will look at what each of us can do to build connections with our children. Because, as we continue to learn, equity – and school success – starts with relationships, with that one teacher, that one adult, who cares.
Mark your calendars for 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 6, at Sinclair College, to hear our speaker Dwayne "D.J." Batiste and explore how we can build the connections with children and adults that will help us begin to eliminate racial and gender gaps. In addition to D.J., we will have a wonderful group of skilled facilitators, to help us move from reflection (“Let's Talk”) to action (“Let's Act!”).
The Summit is free. Join more than 500 community leaders; school board members and other elected officials; superintendents; home visitors; librarians; nonprofit leaders; childcare, after-school and summer providers; preschool teachers; K-12 principals and administrators; and prenatal to age 3 professionals.
Participants are invited to bring a book that will be given to a low-income child, birth to 3rd grade.
