Piecing together facts, interviews, documents and media for a historical documentary on any subject can be a tall order, and doing so for the 100th anniversary of Columbus Regional Health was no exception. Thankfully, many such items from the health system archives were spared from the flood of 2008 that caused millions in damage. Other images and ephemera that were feared lost turned up in a warehouse in Louisville where they had been stored for more than a decade, safely away from rushing floodwaters. Once a 30-minute interview of long-time Bartholomew County Hospital administrator Olive Murphy surfaced at the Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives, it became clear that the best individuals to tell the history of the hospital were current and former leaders.
