Fundraising 101

Doing good often requires dollars. In this webinar, Amy Fiore, Vice President of Jeffrey Sobel Consulting will provide an introduction to fundraising to demystify the process of grantwriting and provide tips/tools that can help your organization promote a culture of philanthropy in order to better serve and fund your mission. This workshop is designed for Social Workers who do not fundraise but recognize the need for increased revenue streams and are interested in helping grow them. 

 

Key Learning objectives:

• Understand why fundraising is called “Development” and what “Culture of Philanthropy” means

• Identify key types of philanthropic contributions

• Learn the components of Development program and what social workers can do to help with the process

 

 

We will reserve time at the end of the program for audience questions and answers.

Vice President of Jeffrey Sobel Consulting

Amy Fiore, Vice President of Jeffrey Sobel Consulting joined the JSC team after serving as Executive Director for Only Make Believe (an arts and social service agency for children in hospital and care facilities). Prior to that, Amy was the Managing Director and Director of Development for TADA! Youth Theater and served in leadership roles at several esteemed Manhattan-based cultural institutions. Amy has been an adjunct professor on nonprofit management at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and has been a guest lecturer at NYU, Baruch College, Arts & Business Council of New York, Staten Island Nonprofit Association, and others. With JSC, Amy typically serves as a Client Lead and project manager. As a grant writer, Amy has acquired new and renewed institutional funding in excess of $1M from private foundation, corporation and government sources. She has designed various types and sizes of fundraising events -- from an inaugural dance-a-thon to an established annual gala -- and is particularly adept at setting a run-of-show, volunteer management, and efficient planning.?Amy specializes in board and staff training/retreats, strategic planning, project management, interim leadership, and particularly enjoys helping clients with atypical income streams through new programmatic initiatives and corporate volunteer programs. She has also recruited, trained, and managed staff; devised and managed institutional budgets of $2M+; recruited, onboarded, and trained boards and committees; and conceptualized, wrote copy and designed countless marketing and donor appeals.
