A small group of fully vaccinated participants will be welcomed at the SFS Annex in Berkeley with indigo vats for their use. Students' own small indigo vat can be transported back to their home. You can bring your own laptop, and the Annex will have a large monitor as well as a staff with a camera capturing participants’ work to show to the instructor. This is the event page for the repeat of Michel's digital hybrid event (originally on April 10th) to learn how to make an indigo vat at your home. 

 

We had an overwhelming interest in the indigo kit since the launch of the indigo workshop by Michel Garcia.  We are out of the indigo from Tennessee. The kits are being packaged for our kit,  they will be back soon.  Stay tuned!

 

Michel will provide a complete manual on how to maintain an organic indigo vat that is safe to make and use at home. You will have step-by-step instruction as well as recordings from the class to guide your practice at home. 

Enjoy your own dye vat to color your home projects with a dip in an organic indigo dye. It would be handy to dye your samples if you are taking the upcoming shibori workshops.

Workshop material per student for the initial vat plus a stock solution for maintenance: You will need organic indigo dye and auxiliarlies for both sessions.
