Central Pierce Fire & Rescue will be offering babysitting classes. This one day course, Safe Sitter®, is a medically accurate program that teaches adolescents ages 11 to 13 years how to handle emergencies when caring for a child. The class teaches safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies.Students will learn:* How to administer CPR to infants and children.* What to do if the child gets a bloody nose.* What to say if 911 has to be called.* How to screen babysitting jobs to decide whether to accept or refuse.* How to change a diaper.
Please bring a lunch and a drink as this is a full day class. The two forms listed below must be printed, completed and brought to class.
Please arrive at 0830 hrs as class will begin at 0900 hrs. Safe Sitter® teaches these skills and much more!
