Future Designs: LED in the workplace - why forward thinking organisations are making the switch

Session Overview

The LED debate started in the UK in 2012. Horror stories of mass component failure and CRI instability slowed the changeover to LED and rightly so. Undeliverable promises were made mainly by new start-up organisations in the Far East which gave LED a poor start. However, those patient enough to wait for the technology to develop and prove itself have found their organisations adopt THR LED technology fully and FUTURE Designs is one of them. 100% of what we manufacture is LED, a staggering turnaround in four years when only 6% was the new technology. 

The introduction of Estidama in Abu Dhabi and the more recent target set by the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai have placed the reduction of energy consumption in the region high up the agenda recognising the global requirement to reduce carbon use. Introduction of LED to commercial lighting fixtures is a significant element to assist achieving these targets. The huge increase in lumens per watt given by Led in comparison to fluorescent lamps is the obvious gain but harmful CFL gasses used in fluorescent manufacture and the issue of safe disposal of the lamps at life end have ensured LED is now the worldwide lighthing medium of choice.
