A workshop suited to any home gardener or Tidy Town group that will cover all the basics of improving your plot for the animal life that live there and in and around our homes, with the added goal of hopefully attracting some more to come and visit. From first assessing what you have, to making simple changes in the choices of plants you should be considering, this workshop will help you create a space where wildlife can thrive. But what diversity of wildlife can we actually attract to our gardens? A member of the Data Centre team will also fill you in on why it is important to start recording your garden wildlife and how you can make a start.

Lynn O'Keeffe-Lascar
Horticulturist and Craft Gardener

Lynn has a BSc in Horticulture and is a horticulturist and craft gardener based in Co. Galway at the Burren’s edge. Working with the OPW and fulfilling the role of garden manager of Doorus Ochard community garden, Lynn has amassed a wealth of experience and has also done so in outreach having worked with numerous Tidy Towns groups and community garden projects. Lynn is also a regular contributor of articles to BirdWatch Ireland's quarterly magazine WINGS on the topic of gardening for wildlife.
