Jung saw the shadow as a treasure hidden in a field, a potential source of richness, unavailable to us as long as it is buried or unconscious. Knowing our shadow, "the thing a person has no wish to be" as Jung called it - is a way of embracing and redeeming the rejected and lost parts of the soul. We need to rethink our attitude toward the shadow. It contains that which will make us whole.

The Jung Association of Central Ohio (JACO) provides educational opportunities for personal growth and development based on the writings, teachings, and insights of Carl Gustav Jung and various post-Jungians. We offer educational and experiential programs to those who are seeking meaning, integration and wholeness. These programs emphasize Jung’s individuation process and the relationship of this journey to the community and the world.
