A Women’s Day of Reflection is a full day’s spiritual experience of Christian women gathered to meet Jesus at the Well! It is based on the Biblical story of the Samaritan woman (John 4:1-42).
We, women gather in prayer ~ beginning with the waters of Baptism! We bless each other in the Name of Jesus Christ, invoking the Holy Spirit to “stir the waters” because we “want to be well!” (John 5:1-9) So, we wade in the water.
As Jesus Christ speaks to us at the well (John 4:1-42), we soon realize that we are the Samaritan woman, carrying empty buckets, but full of stuff. The Biblical teaching of John 4:1-42, allows us to understand the need for both religion and spiritual growth. To strengthen our spiritual faith journey, we write a letter to Jesus who has been waiting for intimacy with us. The full-blown healing follows.
Commissioned to “Witness to the Glory of God,” we, like the woman at the well, run out and declare to others, “Come! Come and see...” And others will know for themselves: “...truly Jesus is the Savior of the world.”
We, women, Second-Line with our umbrellas singing: “When the Saints Go Marchin’ In!”
The day officially closes with the 4:00PM Eucharistic Celebration.
** Kindly, bring your Bibles and umbrellas.
